Galatasaray have secured a critical financial guarantee to pursue the transfer of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, according to club officials on July 10, 2025.
The Turkish champions, who loaned Osimhen from Napoli for the 2024-25 season, are now poised to activate a €75 million buyout clause, backed by a consortium of investors including local banks and a Middle Eastern fund. Osimhen, 26, scored 18 goals in 28 appearances during his loan, revitalizing the team’s attack and earning the Süper Lig Golden Boot.
The guarantee, finalized after weeks of negotiations, addresses Napoli’s demand for full payment by July 31, 2025, amid the Italian club’s financial restructuring. Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek hailed the move as a “strategic coup,” though fans worry about the club’s €300 million debt.
Osimhen, whose contract with Napoli runs until 2026, has expressed openness to staying, citing Istanbul’s vibrant support. Rivals Fenerbahçe’s failed bid has intensified the race, but sources suggest Osimhen’s agent is reviewing offers from the Premier League. The transfer hinges on final paperwork by month-end.
