A Federal High Court in Abuja has been presented with allegations that former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, paid the equivalent of ₦200 million in cash for a five-bedroom property located in Wuse 2, Abuja. This revelation emerged during Mamman’s ongoing trial on charges of money laundering amounting to ₦33.8 billion.

The prosecution’s 14th witness, Mohammed Ashelk Jidda, testified that Mamman personally delivered the cash payment in U.S. dollars for the property. This transaction is under scrutiny as part of broader investigations into financial misconduct during Mamman’s tenure as minister.

The court proceedings continue to unfold, with the prosecution presenting evidence to substantiate the charges against the former minister. The case underscores ongoing efforts by Nigerian authorities to address corruption and promote accountability among public officials.
