
President Muhammadu Buhari in a letter to the Senate has requested the appointment of Special Adviser on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie as the substantive Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
According to the Special Assistant on New Media to the Nigeria Senate House President, Abubakar Sodiq Usman, the written letter containing the details of the appointment request was read at the plenary on Wednesday.
Usman had posted on his official Twitter page “President Muhammadu Buhari has requested the Senate to confirm the appointment of his Special Adviser on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie, as the substantive Chairman of the Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
“The request was contained in a letter written to the Senate, which was read at plenary Wednesday by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan,” he added.
In the letter also contain 14 other names nominated by the president as member of the NDDC board.
