Football enthusiasts queued in large numbers outside the newly opened Cristiano Ronaldo Museum in Hong Kong on July 7, 2025, marking a significant cultural event for the city’s tourism sector.

The 1,800-square-meter facility, inaugurated at the Kowloonbay International Trade & Exhibition Centre, welcomed 12,000 visitors on its opening day, showcasing 250 exhibits, including Ronaldo’s five Ballon d’Or trophies, 2016 Euro Cup medal, and 870 career goal memorabilia. The $6 million project, funded by Ronaldo’s CR7 brand and local sponsors, drew fans from 25 countries, with 75% aged 15-35.

Lines extended 600 meters, with wait times reaching 4 hours, as fans like 21-year-old Zhang Mei hailed Ronaldo’s impact. The event, attended virtually by Ronaldo, injected $2.5 billion into Hong Kong’s tourism economy, with 65% of visitors pre-booking tours.

Authorities deployed police officers to manage crowds, while 35% of local businesses reported a 20% sales increase. The museum, open 10 AM to 8 PM, plans a virtual reality section by mid-2026, reinforcing Ronaldo’s global legacy.
