Due to the impact of the mass action strike by NLC against Kaduna State governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai over a mass sack of workers in the state the governor has declared National Labour Congress (NLC) President, Ayuba Wabba and other leaders wanted for “handsome reward.”
NLC had embarked on a statewide strike to protest against the mass disengagement of workers in Kaduna by the government.
It was also gathered that the Kaduna government allegedly made some anti-labour moves.
According to Sahara Reporters, Wabba had warned on Monday that he would run a full course of NLC action if the state government failed to listen to Kaduna state workers grievances.
It has been gathered that due to the mass strike Kaduna State economy activities has been grounded. The state has been thrown into darkness by the electricity union and the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) have also cut the supply of petroleum products and the aviation and railway workers have also shut down service meaning the Kaduna International Airport and Abuja train service are shut down.
Rather than yielding to the NLC demands El-Rufai has decided to show NLC who is the boss as he took to his verified Twitter account on Tuesday, declared NLC leaders wanted for ‘economic sabotage and attacks on public infrastructure under Miscellaneous Offences Act.’
He tweeted, “KADUNA UPDATE: Ayuba Wabba & others of @NLCHeadquarters declared wanted for economic sabotage & attacks on public infrastructure under Miscellaneous Offences Act. Anyone that knows where he is hiding should send a message to @MOJKaduna. KDSG. There will be a handsome reward!”
