The Nigerian Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Bassey Ewah has said it is illegal for police officers to search your phone at a checkpoint without a court warrant.
“No policeman can ask for your phone unless there is a warrant. Unless you are being investigated as a person,” Mr Ewah said.
