Davido Drops Long-Awaited Fifth Studio Album, ‘5ive’
Nigerian music icon Davido has officially released his highly anticipated fifth studio album, 5ive, on April 18, 2025.
The 17-track project showcases Davido’s evolution as an artist, blending Afrobeats, Afro-fusion, and reggae fusion genres. The album features an array of international and Nigerian artists, including Chris Brown, Victoria Monét, Becky G, Omah Lay, Victony, YG Marley, Odumodublvck, Chike, and Shenseea.
5ive follows Davido’s 2023 album Timeless and reflects his personal growth and renewed focus on family and positive energy, especially after the tragic loss of his son in 2022 and the subsequent birth of twins. The album was curated from an initial pool of 80 tracks, with input from family and friends, resulting in a collection that resonates with themes of resilience and unity.
Notable tracks include “Funds,” featuring Odumodublvck and Chike, which samples Brenda Fassie’s 1997 classic “Vuli Ndlela,” and “Awuke,” featuring YG Marley. The album also includes a surprise collaboration with Jamaican dancehall artist Shenseea, performed at an exclusive listening party in California.
5ive is now available on all major streaming platforms, marking another milestone in Davido’s illustrious career and further solidifying his role in bringing Afrobeats to a global audience.
