In a statement released by Anthony Chiejina, the Group’s Chief Branding and Communications Officer, the refinery attributed the price cut to favourable global energy market conditions and a drop in international crude oil prices.
“This decision reflects our commitment to market realities and ensuring consumers benefit from reductions in crude oil costs,” the statement read.
The company emphasized that this move would significantly reduce petrol prices nationwide, easing transportation costs and ultimately lowering the prices of goods and services.
The refinery urged fuel marketers to pass on the savings to consumers and reaffirmed its support for the federal government’s economic policies aimed at achieving self-sufficiency in petroleum refining and positioning Nigeria as a key oil export hub.
