Chelsea’s Italian head coach Enzo Maresca celebrates with his players after the second goal during the English Premier League football match between Chelsea and Liverpool at Stamford Bridge in London on October 4, 2025.
Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has been given a one-match touchline ban and fined £8,000 ($10,685) for misconduct during his side’s 2-1 win over Liverpool on October 4.

The Football Association confirmed on Wednesday that the Italian admitted to the charge of dissent and excessive celebration following Chelsea’s dramatic stoppage-time winner at Stamford Bridge.
Maresca was booked for protesting a penalty decision earlier in the game and received a second yellow card moments after Estevao Willian’s late strike sealed victory for the Blues.
The ban means he will be absent from the technical area when Chelsea face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday.

The London side had lost their previous two matches before edging Liverpool, a win that temporarily eased pressure on Maresca and lifted Chelsea to sixth place in the standings.

Reports in Italy suggest the 44-year-old later described his celebrations as a spontaneous reaction, noting that the emotion of the moment got the better of him.
