American rapper Cardi B has finally landed her first leading role in a Paramount upcoming movie ‘Assisted Living.’
In the movie, Cardi B will play the character of Amber, a small-time criminal who gets over her head when a heist goes wrong. While trying to avoid getting arrested by the police and hiding from her former crew she went to hide a place where nobody could ever think she would be which is her estranged grandmother’s nursing home. In the nursing home, Amber disguises herself as an elderly woman.
According to Variety, ‘Assisted Living’ is described as a “raucous comedy” with “tremendous heart” and it has similarities with movies like “Tootsie,” “Sister Act” and “Mrs Doubtfire.”
The movie, ‘Assisted Living’ is based on an original spec scripted written by “This Is Us” writer Kay Oyegun to be produced by Temple Hill and Stephen Love. Paramount won the movie right in a competitive biding in 2019.
It appears Cardi B will be all over your movie screens soon as she also landed herself a role in “F9” a sequel to Universal’s “Fast and Furious” franchise.
The Grammy Awards-winning rapper made her movie debut in “Hustlers,” 2019 where she acted alongside Jennifer Lopez, Constance Wu and Keke Palmer a crime drama about strippers who turn the tables on their wealthy Wall Street clientele.
The ‘WAP’ singer also made an appearance on the VH1 reality show “Love and Hip-Hop” from 2015 to 2017.
She as also serve as a judge on Netflix’s unscripted music competition series “Rhythm + Flow” alongside Chance The Rapper and T.I and also executive produce the show.
So Cardi B is now not a freshman on the home movie and programs scene.
