Burna Boy’s Historic 80,000-Fan Stade de France Show Redefines Afrobeats

Nigerian Afrofusion star Damini Ogulu, known as Burna Boy, etched his name in history as the first African artist to sell out the 80,000-capacity Stade de France in Paris, delivering a monumental concert that celebrated African culture.

The event, part of his African Giant world tour, drew over 80,000 fans from 42 countries, generating €10 million in ticket sales, per Ticketmaster France. The three-hour show featured hits like “Ye,” “Last Last,” and “Twice as Tall”.

The stadium was electric with Burna Boy bringing his A game by delivering stellar performances with hits alongside Shallipopi, Dadju and other superstars present.

Nigeria’s 100 million music fans, with 70% under 30, hailed Burna’s feat as a milestone for Afrobeats, though some critics noted high ticket prices (€150-€500) limited local attendance. The event, boosting Nigeria’s $500 million music export market, has sparked calls for more African venues to host mega-concerts.
