It has been confirmed that Nigerian International music artist, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu popularly known as Burna Boy will be performing at the 63rd Grammys.
The ‘Wonderful’ crooner is the first Nigerian music artist to be nominated two consecutive times at the Grammys and now the first Nigerian artist to perform at the Grammy Awards.
Burna Boy was first nominated in the Best Global Music category of the 62nd Grammys with his album AFRICAN GIANT which he lost to Angelique Kidjo who have won the Grammy awards four times.
Burna Boy’s fifth studio album TWICE AS TALL secured a nomination spot in the Best Global Music Category of the 63rd Grammy Awards and according to the list released by Grammy Awards organisers, other nominees in the category include FU CHRONICLES by Antibalas, AGORA by Bebel Gilberto, LOVE LETTERS by Anoushka Shankar, and AMADJAR by Tinariwen.
According to the Grammy organisers, the 63rd Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony will take place Sunday, March 14th, at 8 p.m – 11:30 p.m ET which is 2:00 a.m – 5:30 a.m West African Time and will be broadcast live on CBS and Paramount+ and internationally streamed on GRAMMY.COM
The Premiere will be hosted by current three-time GRAMMY nominee Jhené Aiko.
The African Giant as he is fondly called by fans as proven to be ‘Twice As Tall’ indeed.
Speaking of the songs on the album, ‘Twice As Tall’ is a 15 tracks album that includes the widely known ‘Wonderful,’ ‘Onyeka (Baby),‘ ‘Monster You Made,’ ‘Wey Too Big‘ and others.
