On March 25, 2025, Boko Haram insurgents launched an attack on a military base located in Sabon Gari, Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State, Nigeria. The assault began in the early hours, with insurgents engaging soldiers in a fierce gun battle.

While the exact number of casualties remains unconfirmed, reports indicate that several soldiers were feared killed, and others sustained injuries. The insurgents reportedly overran the base, looting weapons and ammunition before retreating. This attack underscores the persistent security challenges posed by Boko Haram in the northeastern region of Nigeria.

In response, the Nigerian Army has initiated a counter-offensive operation to apprehend the perpetrators and reinforce security in the area.
