Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner, Imisi Opeyemi Ayanwale, has revealed that she suffered a devastating personal loss just weeks before auditioning for the reality TV show.
In a recent interview on TVC Entertainment, Imisi disclosed that she lost her baby in April, less than a month before she registered for the BBNaija competition. The reality star described that period as one of the most emotionally difficult times of her life.
“It happened in April, just before the auditions,” she said softly. “The whole thing was overwhelming. I don’t really want to talk about it.”
Her revelation shed light on the emotional weight she carried into the BBNaija house, where millions of fans knew her only as the lively and competitive personality who went on to win the show.
Imisi also opened up about another personal challenge that occurred around the same time, a painful breakup with her ex-boyfriend, Hakeem. According to her, their relationship ended shortly before she auditioned for the show, a separation she described as “hectic” and difficult to recover from.
“Hakeem was my safe place,” she admitted, explaining that their connection had shaped many aspects of her life, including her public image. “A lot of what people saw on my social media back then was influenced by him,” she said.

Despite the heartbreak and loss, Imisi went ahead to compete in BBNaija Season 10, which premiered in July. Her resilience, charisma, and emotional honesty made her a fan favorite throughout the show’s three-month run.
Born Opeyemi Ayanwale, Imisi emerged as the winner of the 2025 edition of Big Brother Naija on October 5, beating 28 other contestants to clinch the ₦80 million cash prize and a brand-new SUV.
