Thirty-two out of sixty-three abducted students of Kaduna Baptist school has regained freedom remaining Thirty-one.
Kaduna chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Joseph Hayab confirmed the release of the students on Friday.
Speaking with TheCable, Hayab said, “32 of the students have been released this evening, remaining 31 with the bandits”.
Hayab said the released students have been reunited with their parents.
According to reports, the bandits promised last week Friday to release all the abducted students but only released 15 of the students.
According to the president of the Nigerian Baptist Convention  (NBC), Isreal Akanji, 78 students were abducted but 15 were released earlier.
“The number was smaller than what we were expecting because we had 78 children out there. They had earlier given us 15, that means 63 to come.
“But in everything, God said we should give thanks and we are giving thanks for what he has done. We are trusting that the same God who has brought these 15 out is going to help us to receive the other 63”.
Bandits had invaded the school on July 5 2021 which is just a few kilometres away from the Kaduna metropolis and abducted 121 students.
On July 28, they were reportedly paid a ransom of N100 million Naira this lead to the release of 28 of the students and the bandits said they will be releasing the students in batches
Following the release of the 28 students, the bandits were said to have demanded another N80m as a ransom for the remaining students.
