Nigerian Presidential aspirant, Human Rights Activist and Sahara Reporter Boss, Omoyele Sowore and a group called Coalition For Revolution (CORE) started a movement, #RevolutionNow on social media with an offline protest slated for August 5th, 2019.
The movement has been trending on social media for over 48 hours with the CORE members and Sowore calling Nigerians to join the mass resistance.
According to Sowore, over 20 cities in Nigeria have signed up for the “Days Of Rage” protest on 5th August

@OkpankuObserver said, “Nigerian political elites in fear as coalition organize for a total #RevolutionNow starting from Monday 5th, August 2019. #Biafra #Referendum.”

Citizens are calling for the total overhaul of the existing political system in the country.

@LaiBrownlai says, “The people United and determined can never be defeated. Let unite against exploitation and oppression on August 5th #RevolutionNow.”
Meanwhile, according to Punchng, Nigerian government places Amnesty International Nigeria on the watch list due to the tweet posted by the commission in support of #RevolutionNow which raised alarm for concern as it is surprising to see Amnesty International Nigeria be in support of the motion.
Amnesty International Nigeria had tweeted that Nigerian authority must respect the movement and as well as respect the people seeking freedom and just without fear and stated cleary that Nigeria belongs to all of us.
