In a move aimed at strengthening its membership database ahead of the 2027 general elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has contracted a private firm, Tunmef Global Limited, to conduct a nationwide digital membership registration exercise.
The signing ceremony took place on Tuesday at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, with notable attendees including the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma; the Governor of Cross River State, Bassey Otu; and Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo. APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, members of the National Working Committee, and state party chairmen were also present.
Speaking at the event, Uzodimma emphasized the importance of leveraging technology to modernize party operations and ensure credible membership records.
“This initiative underscores our commitment to digital transformation,” Uzodimma stated. “We must thank President Bola Tinubu for his visionary leadership. Across the world, everything has moved from analogue to digital, including governance, politics, and social systems. This registration will ensure that when we say we have 10 million members, we mean it.”
Ganduje echoed similar sentiments, noting that the initiative was long overdue. “This program was conceived a long time ago, but today, under President Tinubu’s administration, it has finally come to fruition,” he said. “The APC has gone digital, and we will now have scientifically verifiable data on our membership.”
APC National Legal Adviser, Prof. AbdulKareem Kana, provided further insights into the project, explaining that members’ registration numbers would be linked to their National Identity Numbers (NIN) for accuracy and accessibility.
