The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has assigned Hotel Sahrai in Fes, Morocco, as the official camp for Nigeria’s Super Eagles ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), set to kick off on December 21. The Eagles will face Tanzania in their opening match on Tuesday, December 23.
This marks a historic first for the tournament: all 24 participating nations now have dedicated hotels, a departure from previous tournaments where teams often shared accommodations.
The selection of Hotel Sahrai comes after social media debates over the Rive Hotel, where the Super Eagles stayed during the Africa 2026 FIFA World Cup Playoffs. A viral video by midfielder Alex Iwobi highlighted poor infrastructure around the previous hotel, sparking criticism from fans.

CAF and Moroccan authorities have assured football enthusiasts that this year’s tournament will feature world-class facilities and top-tier hospitality for every team. Hotel Sahrai, a five-star property designed by renowned architect Christophe Pillet, offers sweeping views of Fes’ historic medina, blending modern luxury with over a thousand years of the city’s rich history.

Fans and football analysts in Nigeria are eagerly following the team’s preparations, as the Super Eagles aim to make a strong impression in Morocco.
