Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has appealed for the release of TikTok content creator Olumide Ogunsanwo, also known as SeaKing, who was arrested for criticizing him.

SeaKing had referred to Adeboye’s directive for a 100-day fast as “stupid” in a TikTok video posted in December 2024. His remarks sparked mixed reactions online, leading the Concerned Christian Youth Forum (CCYF) to petition the Lagos State Police Command, which resulted in his arrest.

The TikToker’s continued detention has fueled outrage across social media, with human rights activists and politicians, including former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore, condemning the police action.

In a recent video statement, Adeboye distanced himself from the arrest, stating he was unaware of the incident and had no involvement in it.

“I heard someone criticized me for asking my congregation to fast for 100 days. I didn’t ask him or anyone outside my church to participate. But I was told that some people got so angry that they had him arrested. Haaa! Release him. He is fulfilling prophecy,” Adeboye said.

Meanwhile, CCYF convener James Adama confirmed in a YouTube video that the group was behind the arrest, citing concerns over rising cyber harassment against religious leaders.
