BOJ Teams Up With Olamide and Mavo Ahead of ‘Duplicity’ Album

Nigerian alté veteran BOJ is building momentum for his sixth studio album, Duplicity, with a strategic rollout of twin singles, this time featuring heavyweights Olamide and rising star Mavo.

Instead of releasing the album all at once, BOJ is giving fans a taste of what’s to come by dropping singles in pairs. The approach began on October 24 with After Hours, featuring French-Gabonese singer Anais Cardot, showcasing BOJ’s softer, romantic side, and Shana, a high-energy collaboration with Show Dem Camp and Ghanaian hip-hop artist Joey B, highlighting his signature alte edge.

The next pair of singles is set to drop this Friday, including Diamonds featuring Mavo and Contraband featuring Olamide. Early snippets of Diamonds have already stirred excitement online, while details on Contraband remain under wraps. The inclusion of Olamide signals a high-profile collaboration aimed at bridging the alte and mainstream Afrobeats audiences.

By mixing established names with emerging talent, BOJ positions Duplicity as a collaborative showcase, broadening the album’s appeal while highlighting his knack for blending experimental and accessible sounds.

The two-at-a-time release strategy also keeps fans engaged on social media, encouraging discussion, speculation, and user-generated content around each track. By the album’s release on December 5, BOJ is expected to have cultivated a highly engaged audience ready to experience the project as a cohesive statement of his artistic growth and influence in the Nigerian alte scene.

This calculated approach demonstrates that in today’s music landscape, storytelling and timing are just as important as the music itself, turning Duplicity’s rollout into an event that extends anticipation and conversation week by week.
