Nollywood icon Segun Arinze has finally addressed his past fallout with fellow actor Emeka Ike, a feud that once made headlines and split fans of Nigeria’s movie industry into opposing camps.
In a recent interview, Arinze opened up about the years of tension between himself and Ike, revealing that they have since reconciled and moved forward with mutual respect.
The rift, which dates back over a decade, was partly fueled by leadership struggles within the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), where both men held influential roles. Emeka Ike had, at one point, accused Arinze and others of gatekeeping and attempting to marginalize him within the industry. Arinze, for his part, maintained a largely diplomatic silence for years.
“Time has a way of healing wounds,” Arinze said during the interview. “We’ve both grown, evolved, and realized that we are stronger together as part of Nollywood’s legacy. We even laugh about it now.”
He emphasized that as veterans of the industry, both he and Ike now have a responsibility to show the younger generation that unity is possible. The actor also hinted that they may soon appear in a movie together—a move that would undoubtedly excite longtime fans and serve as a symbol of reconciliation and growth in the industry.
