The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has disbursed a total of N397 million as transport allowances to its officials involved in the conduct of the recent Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
This substantial allowance covers logistics and transportation costs for examination supervisors, invigilators, and other personnel deployed across various centers nationwide.
JAMB's Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, stated that the disbursement aims to ensure the smooth execution of the mock examinations, which serve as a preparatory exercise for candidates and a means to identify and rectify potential challenges ahead of the main UTME.
He emphasized that the mock UTME is crucial for testing the readiness of JAMB's facilities and the preparedness of candidates, thereby ensuring that the main examination process is seamless and devoid of technical hitches.
