Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has expressed profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for their swift and decisive responses to the tragic killing of 16 Kano indigenes in Uromi, Edo State. The incident, which occurred on March 29, 2025, involved the brutal murder of travelers returning from Port Harcourt.


In a statement released by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf lauded the immediate actions taken by both federal and state authorities, including the dispatch of delegations to Kano to commiserate with the bereaved families and the initiation of thorough investigations to apprehend and prosecute those responsible.

Governor Yusuf emphasized the importance of justice and transparency in handling the case, advocating for the public parading of suspects to assure citizens of the government's commitment to accountability. He reiterated his administration's dedication to safeguarding the lives and properties of Kano State indigenes, regardless of their location within the country.
