Social media comedian and actor Ijoba Lande has publicly apologized to acclaimed actress and producer Funke Akindele, retracting his earlier statements regarding a ₦90,000 payment for a movie role.

Lande had previously alleged that he was underpaid for his participation in one of Akindele's projects, a claim that garnered significant attention and sparked debates about fair compensation in the industry.

In a heartfelt video shared on his social media platforms, Lande admitted that his earlier comments were misguided and stemmed from misunderstandings. He expressed deep regret for any distress his statements may have caused Akindele and acknowledged her contributions to his career growth.

Akindele, known for her mentorship and support of emerging talents, has not publicly responded to Lande's apology. Industry insiders view this development as a reminder of the importance of clear communication and professionalism in contractual agreements within Nollywood.

This incident has also sparked conversations about the challenges faced by up-and-coming actors and the need for transparent negotiations to ensure mutual respect and understanding between established filmmakers and new talents.
