Nigerian Afrofusion star Damini Ogulu, known as Burna Boy, etched his name in history as the first African artist to sell out the 80,000-capacity Stade de France in Paris, delivering a monumental concert that celebrated African culture.
The event, part of his African Giant world tour, drew over 80,000 fans from 42 countries, generating €10 million in ticket sales, per Ticketmaster France. The three-hour show featured hits like “Ye,” “Last Last,” and “Twice as Tall".
The stadium was electric with Burna Boy bringing his A game by delivering stellar performances with hits alongside Shallipopi, Dadju and other superstars present.
Nigeria’s 100 million music fans, with 70% under 30, hailed Burna’s feat as a milestone for Afrobeats, though some critics noted high ticket prices (€150-€500) limited local attendance. The event, boosting Nigeria’s $500 million music export market, has sparked calls for more African venues to host mega-concerts.
