Renowned gospel singer Tope Alabi has responded to critics questioning her choice to wear earrings and wigs, stating that she has never received any divine instruction against such fashion choices.

Speaking during a recent live session, Alabi dismissed the belief that wearing jewelry or artificial hair contradicts Christian values. “God has never told me not to wear earrings or wigs. People should stop using religion to impose their personal opinions on others,” she said.

The gospel artist also revealed that early in her career, financial constraints prevented her from fully embracing her fashion preferences, leading some to assume she deliberately chose a modest lifestyle. She urged fans to focus on their spiritual journey rather than outward appearances.

Her statement has reignited discussions within religious circles about personal style and spirituality, with some supporting her stance while others believe gospel artists should maintain a more conservative image.
