The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has launched an educational campaign aimed at sensitizing schoolchildren on road safety rules and traffic regulations.
The initiative, which is part of efforts to instill early awareness of safe road usage, was held in selected schools across the state. LASTMA officials conducted interactive sessions, teaching students about pedestrian safety, traffic signs, and the importance of obeying road rules.
LASTMA’s General Manager, Olalekan Bakare, stated that educating young people on traffic safety is crucial in reducing road accidents.
“Children are often vulnerable road users, and it is essential to educate them early on the dangers of reckless road behavior. This campaign will equip them with the knowledge they need to stay safe,” Bakare said.
Parents and teachers lauded the initiative, urging authorities to extend the program to more schools and communities.
