Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has dismissed widespread rumors that he is facing impeachment, labeling the claims as politically motivated attempts to destabilize his administration.

Speaking at a public event in Port Harcourt, Fubara reassured Rivers residents that his government remains intact and fully functional. He also criticized political actors who he claimed were deliberately spreading falsehoods to create unrest in the state.

The alleged impeachment plot has sparked tensions, with various political groups taking sides in the ongoing power struggle between Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike. The situation has prompted Rivers elders to issue a warning to the Federal Government, urging it to stay out of the state’s internal politics.

Political analysts believe that the crisis stems from disagreements over governance and control of the state’s political structure. However, Governor Fubara insists that his administration will remain focused on delivering good governance despite any attempts to create distractions.
