The Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) has confirmed that the students from King’s College, Lagos, who were admitted following a diphtheria outbreak, have responded well to treatment and are now fit for discharge.

Diphtheria, a highly contagious bacterial infection that affects the nose and throat, was detected among some students of the prestigious secondary school, prompting immediate medical intervention. The affected students were promptly transferred to LUTH, where they received specialized care, including antibiotic treatment and respiratory support.
