Afrobeats star Adekunle Gold has revealed that his journey in the music industry has been one of constant hard work, with no time for rest since the release of his debut album Gold in 2016. The singer, known for his unique sound and evolution over the years, shared insights into his tireless pursuit of success and reinvention.

In a recent interview, Adekunle Gold admitted that despite achieving numerous milestones, he has never felt a sense of arrival. Instead, each success has fueled his hunger to achieve more.

"I have never felt like I’ve made it. I think it’s just who I am. Even after my debut album, when people thought I had arrived, I still felt like there was more to do. That mentality has kept me going," he explained.

Before venturing into music full-time, Adekunle Gold pursued a degree in Art and Industrial Design and worked multiple jobs, including running a branding company. However, he found himself constantly seeking something more fulfilling, which led him to focus on music.

Since his breakout with hit songs like Sade and Orente, Adekunle Gold has remained dedicated to pushing his artistic boundaries. Over the years, he has evolved from a highlife-inspired sound to a more diverse and global Afrobeats style, collaborating with international stars like Ty Dolla $ign and working on his highly acclaimed albums, including Afro Pop Vol. 1 and Tequila Ever After.

However, the constant pursuit of excellence has also come with sacrifices. The singer admitted that he has barely had time to rest, as he is always thinking about the next move.

"The industry is fast-paced, and you can’t afford to relax. Every day, new talents are emerging, and you have to keep evolving to stay relevant. It’s a never-ending hustle," he added.

Despite the pressure, Adekunle Gold remains motivated by his passion for music and his desire to create timeless records. He assured fans that he is still on a journey of growth and reinvention, promising even bigger projects in the future.
