Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and former governor of Kano State, has expressed confidence that his party will emerge victorious in the 2027 general elections, defeating the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking at a political gathering in Kano, Kwankwaso stated that NNPP has positioned itself as the party of the people and is gaining increasing support across the country. He argued that Nigerians are dissatisfied with both APC and PDP due to their failure to address critical national issues, such as economic hardship, insecurity, and unemployment.
According to Kwankwaso, the NNPP has been working to strengthen its grassroots presence and expand its influence beyond its traditional strongholds in the North. He revealed that the party is already strategizing for 2027 by building alliances, mobilizing supporters, and refining its policy framework to offer Nigerians a credible alternative.
“Our victory in Kano State during the last election is proof that Nigerians are tired of the same old system that has kept the country in poverty and underdevelopment. NNPP is growing stronger every day, and by 2027, we will be the party to beat,” Kwankwaso stated.
He further criticized the APC-led administration for failing to deliver on its promises, citing inflation, the depreciation of the naira, and persistent insecurity as major indicators of poor governance. He urged Nigerians to rally behind NNPP for a brighter and more progressive future.
While some political analysts agree that NNPP has made significant inroads in the political space, others argue that it will face tough competition from the well-established structures of APC and PDP. Nonetheless, Kwankwaso’s declaration signals the beginning of intense political maneuvering ahead of the 2027 elections.
