Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has announced plans to bolster security along the state’s borders following reports of increasing threats from insurgents and cross-border criminal activities.

Speaking at a security briefing in Bauchi, the governor emphasized the need for enhanced surveillance and collaboration with security agencies to curb illegal movements and potential attacks.

“We cannot afford to leave our borders unprotected, given the security challenges facing the region. My administration is committed to ensuring that our people remain safe,” he said.

The state government has also vowed to work closely with local vigilante groups and traditional rulers to improve intelligence gathering and response strategies.

Security experts have welcomed the move, urging the federal government to provide more support in tackling security challenges in border states.
