A tragic road accident at the Muhammadu Buhari Interchange Flyover, Hotoro area of Kano, on Friday, resulted in the deaths of at least 23 people and left many others injured.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kano Sector Command, confirmed the fatalities and attributed the crash to dangerous driving and excessive speeding.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a DAF trailer carrying goods and 71 passengers lost control due to reckless driving. Emergency response teams, including FRSC personnel and the Nigeria Police Force, swiftly arrived at the scene to conduct rescue operations and restore normal traffic flow.

The injured victims were immediately transported to Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital, Kano, for urgent medical attention. An official investigation has been launched to further examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
